Here at The Control Group, we strongly believe that a thriving culture and happy employees are vital to the success of any company. A relaxed and welcoming environment facilitates collaboration and increases productivity across all departments. Our San Diego beachside headquarters showcases our relaxed company culture.
Within our walls, you’ll find surfboards, road bikes, basketball hoops, a kitchen full of snacks, and dogs—several dogs. We enjoy a dog-friendly policy, and our team members are encouraged to bring their canine companions to work. Pretty cool, right? We currently have six resident pooches, and most of them were rescued from animal shelters. Ready to meet our four-legged pals? Roll call please!
Duke is the right-hand man of our Account Executive Alex Brown. This lovable pup makes his way around the office every day to make sure no one misses out on a petting session.
This little guy is Corn Dog, and you can always find him snuggled up at the feet of his dad, Nathan Cobb, one of our back-end developers.
This is Corn Dog’s little sister, Kiddo, who was also adopted by Nathan.
This handsome pup is Diego, the most energetic of the bunch. When he’s not hanging out with his dad, Director of Recruiting, Chris Ridge, you can find him playing with Kiddo around the office.
Lulu belongs to our Project Manager, Sean Shahrohki, and as you can tell by her hiking boots and matching backpack, she’s an active pup who loves the outdoors.
They’re pretty cute, right? Well, we’re not the only lucky ones. Currently, one in five U.S. companies enjoy a dog-friendly policy, and that number is expected to grow significantly in the upcoming years. Studies have even shown that employees who bring their dogs to the office every day actually produce lower amounts of the stress hormone, cortisol.
The team members at The Control Group can certainly testify to the benefits of a dog-friendly office. Working alongside our furry friends makes everyone’s day a little brighter, and in turn, reduces stress and increases productivity across the board.
Rumor has it that one of our front-end developers is planning to adopt a shelter pup in the near future, and we can’t wait to meet our newest canine coworker. We’ll be sure to give the little guy (or girl) a proper introduction, so check back for updates!
